"The Metamorphosis" Chapter 3

The story Metamorphosis is very deep in the writing and is a great short story to read, to make you think of how your family works. I think the author [Kafka] made Gregor a bug for a purpose or to prove a point. The idea of turning the protagonist into a bug, I think was to find the true meaning of the limits of a family. To make you extend your understanding how far one will you go for his/her own family and realize the patience needed to save a struggling family member. Not only to make you realize but to make you improve how you act towards your family and how you impact your family.
It is very weird that he chose a cockroach for Gregor’s transformation and still I wonder what made him came up with this absurd idea. I believe he used a cockroach instead of a monkey or a frog to have a better impact on the readers than the impact he could get from a frog or a monkey. In a fairy tail every person knows there is going to be a happy ending and the cute little animals of a fairy tail will lead to the happy ending where a cockroach is a nasty bug that no one likes and I think the author wanted the reader to have deeper reflections about the story than a fairy tail where everyone knows how the story will conclude. At the end of the story you still feel sorry for Gregor that went through all this trouble and after all his limitations he ended shameful.
